May 1-5, 2013

Admission: free

Since 2011, the CineMarfa film festival has distinguished itself from other film festivals by emphasizing the intersection between film and visual art. For five days each May, we screen around 20 films in the Crowley Theater and other spaces around town.
The CineMarfa film festival is dedicated to bringing rare, forgotten, or difficult-to-see films – including films that have been banned or censored – to light in far West Texas. Our focus is on films made by visual artists, as well as rarely screened archival, experimental, documentary, and narrative films. We also feature work by Texas artists, filmmakers, and other Texan film-related cultural producers, including some that call Marfa home. All of the screenings are free but reservations are strongly recommended. This year’s festival is May 1st – May 5th, 2013.
